Read by Simon Vance
The winner of four coveted APA ‘Audie’ awards (nominated more than a dozen times), an AudioFile Magazine Golden Voice with 37 Earphone, five ‘books of the year’ and six ‘voice of the year’ awards as well as being the inaugural ‘Voice of Choice’ for Booklist Magazine (2008).
There’s good reason for all these awards. As Kate Fleming, who has directed him in several audiobooks, says, “Without resorting to vocal gymnastics, Simon is one of those narrators who can tap into a vast reserve of imagination to find the right feel for his characters.”
Simon has been narrating for over 25 years since first entering a studio in London for the Royal National Institute for the Blind. A former BBC Radio news reader, Simon has also performed on TV and in film while also working extensively on stage in and around the San Francisco Bay Area though that takes a back seat now to the very satisfying and enjoyable recording of audio books, not to mention more time with his family.
Whether reading fiction or non-fiction, Mr. Vance’s virtuosity makes listening a pleasure.
